Blogger is Google's blog platform. You can use blogs to share information with students or parents; create a location for student discussion; create a class website; create a teacher website; create a professional website; follow other teacher's professional blogs; and more.
Student Impact: For students under 13: Blogger users must be at least 13 years old. NOTE: if a student under 13 creates a blog, the student's Google account may be suspended. For students between 13-18: Under teacher supervision, students can use Blogger through their @students.ci.k12.mn.us Google account.
Teacher Impact:
Blogger is connected to Google accounts.
Teachers can have students comment on a teacher blog and the comments are attached to the student's MV Google account.
Teachers can follow student blogs and monitor what students post and monitor student comments.
The privacy settings on blogger can be set so that all blogs are private.
Students can demonstrate their understanding of a concept by:
writing a response to a teacher’s weekly writing prompt.
creating a blog on something they are interested in and writing blog posts about that topic.
creating a digital reading log that includes responses to prompts about what they are reading and reviews of the books they have read.
